The Farmville Area Chamber of Commerce and the Longwood Small Business Development Center partnered to host the 2014 Small Business Community Showcase on April 30th at the STEPS Centre. The daylong event gave local businesses an opportunity to network and showcase their goods and services to each other and to the public. Building on Longwood’s mission of educating Citizen Leaders, Charles Weathers delivered a luncheon keynote on “The ABLE Leader.” The luncheon keynote was followed by President Reveley, who helped us celebrate Longwood’s 175th (and Longwood SBDC’s 25th) Birthday with a special cake made by ARAMARK! Attendees who visited all exhibitors and completed their “passport” were eligible for numerous door prizes and grand prize giveaways. The day ended with a fun “after hours” networking celebration from 4:30 to 6:30, including barbecue sliders and fried green tomatoes from The Fishin’ Pig! Here are just a few of the highlights!!
